It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

Whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing whatsoever," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive nature kick in and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and after that Healy was underway.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup need to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as skipper.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
